Chapter 19 of 21
NDI
How to receive NDI video with a clock overlay and how to send the clock as an NDI source.
- What it is for
- NDI sends video over the local network. TimerPRO can receive an NDI source (e.g. slides or a camera), overlay the clock and messages and show it to the speaker — or send the clock alone as an NDI source to the production.
- Who can use it
- Video operator — PRO feature. NDI devices must be on the same network; the NDI library is included with the program.
- Where to find it
- NDI tab (receive) and Settings → NDI Output card (send).
1Receiving an NDI source
- 1 NDI state — e.g. whether there are NDI sources on the network.
- 2 NDI Source — source selection; 3 Refresh — search for sources again; 4 Connect.
- 5 Preview of the source image with overlays.
- 6 Show Timer and 7 Show message — clock and messages on the image; below them position, size, colour. The overlay always stays fully on the image: at an edge (e.g. “Top Left”) it moves into the corner, and a font that is too large is reduced.
- 8 Display on the monitor — sends the image with overlays to the speaker screen instead of the plain clock.
- 9 Secondary Display Quality — quality and frame rate of the image on the speaker screen.
- 10 Source information — details of the connected source.
2NDI output
- Stream the timer to broadcast equipment.
- 1 Start NDI Output / Stop NDI Output.
- 2 State — Ready, Streaming (… fps), NDI not available or Error.
- 3 Source name — the clock appears under this name in the production software (e.g. vMix, OBS with an NDI plugin).
- 4 Frame rate — 30, 25, 15 or 10.
